Aqualane Shores, beside being known for it’s extravagant homesite structures and the incredibly close proximity to the finer things that the city of Naples has to offer, is one of the very first areas developed when Naples became an official city back in 1950. Aqualane Shores consists of approximately three hundred and fifty homes on about three hundred acres of land. Many of the homes sit along deep canals with direct access to the Gulf of Mexico. There is a voluntary Home Owners Association founded in 1966 “to provide fellowship and unity of purpose for a unique, mature, and settled segment of Naples.” For a small annual membership fee, members have the pleasure of using many discounts at nearby shops and restaurants.
Naples Pier and Downtown Fifth Avenue
North of Aqualane Shores, residents find themselves wandering down the luxurious street of Fifth Avenue where the utmost spectacular shopping and fine dining experiences can take place among the countless shops. Small gardens are are sporadically placed along the street providing lush mini oasis’s for a quick rest during your shopping spree’s. As you head down Fifth Avenue from Tamiami Trail, you will find yourself making a left onto Gulfshore Boulevard and arriving at the sought after Naples Pier. The Naples Pier stretches approximately an amazing one thousand feet into the Gulf of Mexico. About halfway through to the end of the pier, there is a snack stand for any light snacking or beverages to rehydrate yourself if desired. At the end of the pier, dolphins are occasionally swimming in the surrounding waters and fishermen sit contently with their fishing lines over the railing.
